Job Duties: (These duties are illustrative only. Incumbents may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.)

·         Performs preventive maintenance & service (e.g., tunes gas &/or diesel engines; inspects engines checking for leaks, worn or close components, fluid levels, belt & hose conditions &/or mounting; inspects underbody checking for leaks, loose or worn components in suspension, steering &/or drive train; inspects brakes looking for loose or worn components, proper adjustments &/or leaks; changes fluids; operates electronic system scope) on cars, trucks & equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, graders, weed eaters, generators) & repairs, rebuilds &/or replaces major parts (e.g., carburetor, alternator, water or fuel pump, clutches, brake systems, exhaust systems) &/or motorcycles.

·         Performs minor repairs or miscellaneous mechanic work (e.g., inspects tires/wheels looking for damage, leaks or wear; cleans or replaces diesel injectors; adjusts valves; performs body repair work; replaces shocks; repairs or replaces hydraulic pumps or systems; installs snow plow blades; repairs hydraulic systems).

·         Maintains records of repairs & maintenance; (e.g., daily time sheets); orders &/or picks up parts; provides service & repair of vehicles & equipment on emergency basis; &/or makes onsite service/outpost calls (e.g., replaces flat tire; repairs air leak in brake system; repairs wear items on heavy equipment; performs guardrail replacement); operates welding torches in order to repair snow plow blades, frames, dump & flat bed truck bodies &/or related equipment, cleans garage area, equipment &/or tools; mows grass &/or operates snow plow, tow truck or other equipment; pumps gasoline; attends training schools; safety meetings, mechanic meetings or related meetings; operates motor vehicle in order to transport equipment/materials/supplies to & from job sites.

 

Minimum Qualifications:24 mos. exp. in automotive repair & maintenance of variety of vehicles or equipment. The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment, per Section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code. Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.

Skill in operating hand & power tools related to repair & maintenance of vehicles & equipment. Ability to understand system of mechanical procedures; work alone on most tasks; stand or bend continuously; lift &/or use mechanical equipment (e.g., hoist) to transport up to 50-100 lbs. of automotive parts or tires; use limbs/fingers easily to perform manual functions.

Fechko Excavating: Pipelayer – Medina, OH

 

Report To: Supervising Foreman

Experience: 3-5 Years Preferred

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Basic Function: Assemble and install concrete, plastic, or cast-iron pipes that are used as storm or sanitation sewers, drains, water mains, oil or gas lines or electrical or other conduit. Follow written instructions or blueprints to lay out the route of the pipe. Dig trenches to the desired or required depth by hand or using trenching machines. Level and/or grade the base of the trench using tamping machines or hand tools. Cut pipe to desired length, if necessary. Lay pipes in trenches and weld, cement, glue, or otherwise connect pieces together. Check the slope with carpenter's level or lasers. Cover pipe with earth or other materials. Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators. May work with, but normally do not operate, the following heavy equipment: trenching machines, backhoes, bulldozers & front end loaders.

Working Conditions: The work is outdoors and varied, depending on the weather. Bad weather can shut down jobs and the machinery is generally not operated in heavy snow or rain. Must be flexible and adaptable to different environments, job sites and requirements. Must be willing to travel.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. In addition, they must provide proof of high school graduation or general education development (GED) equivalent. Mechanical & mathematical aptitude, ability to read construction plans and knowledge of general construction procedures and terminology is required. Pipelayers need to be in good physical condition. 3-5 years on the job experience with sanitary, water and storm pipe is preferred.

Position Details:

1. Maintains and repairs various major electrical systems throughout the facility.

Operating Engineer - DTE Energy

General Summary:

This position is responsible for operating, monitoring and performing routine maintenance, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, on all equipment located within a powerhouse facility. Work is performed under direct supervision with results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.   

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Records and analyzes plant operational data and operation of facility systems to maximize equipment efficiency and reliability

§  Records and evaluates status of various operating plant equipment

§  Responds to abnormal and emergency operating situations in a safe and reasonable manner

§  Investigates and corrects equipment problems if possible; inspects and performs routine, planned, corrective and emergency maintenance on all plant equipment.

§  Performs routine housekeeping duties and general clean up of the facility and immediate surrounding area 

§  Measures and records the daily use of fuel.

§  Performs routine, planned, and emergency maintenance actions on all facility equipment; routine maintenance may include lubrication, oil and filter changes, equipment cleaning and painting, equipment tear down, inspection and re-build, etc.

§  Interfaces with the client by responding to and resolving routine service requests and emergency trouble calls and has a basic understanding of the client’s needs

§  Utilizes the computer based maintenance management program to initiate work orders, record maintenance actions, order spare parts, track inventory, close-out work orders and enter maintenance information into computerized data base

§  Recommends maintenance and operating improvements to enhance customer service, improve efficiency, and increase equipment reliability

§  Provides on-call support for emergency and contingency situations

§  Performs all other related duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A high school diploma or GED, with experience to provide for the following:

§  Experience operating and maintaining plant electrical and control systems, including programmable controllers (PLC) is highly desirable

§  Ohio 3rd class engineers license required. 

§  Basic water chemistry or WWTP experience desired.

Duties:  Clean along our highways, flag in work zones, pick up litter, basic general labor, as well as other related miscellaneous duties.

TSH employees are not permitted to operate heavy equipment of any kind, including, but not limited to, equipment which requires a commercial driver's license.
