Stationary Engineer Apprentice – University of Cincinnati
Position Number: 210-07C-1072
Pay Rate: 13.89/hr
Shift: First
Standard Days and Hours: M-F 6:30a-3pm
Work Location: Central & East Utility Plant
Job Description: Under direct supervision from higher-level stationary engineer; provide assistance with operating and maintaining powerhouse equipment on an assigned shift.
Position Description: Assist in the maintenance of boilers, chillers, combustion turbines, steam turbines, and all auxiliary equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: High school/GED diploma. Must have a current, valid driver's license.
Unusual Working Conditions: May be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, noise and dangerous machinery; may be exposed to high temperature, steam or hot water.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Examination: Applications will be reviewed by Human Resources to determine eligibility which will be based on the minimum qualifications. All qualifying applicants will be notified of the date and time of the written examination.

1.Click 'search jobs' on the left and search however you like. (To get an exhaustive list of trade jobs, just select 'bargaining unit' under 'contract types'. )
2.Then, when you click on a job, a pdf will pop up, and a little window. The pdf contains information about the job.
3. In that little window that pops up, you can click the 'apply now' button.
4.Then, click 'register now' and set up your account.
5.Once you have an account set up with First Energy, you can use it to apply for anything on the website. A resume to attach is pretty crucial.

2. Click the 'view and apply for jobs' button in the middle of the page
3. You may be able figure it out from here. 'All Open Jobs" will give you an idea of whats available, and if there's a lot to go through there, you can go 'by category' or 'by location'.
4. If you find a job you are interested in, click on it, and you can click 'apply now'.
5. You will see a prompt at the top of the screen to register. Make sure you have a resume to upload. If not, its fine, create an account, get your profile ready, and then get your resume ready before applying.

3. Once you find a job you are interested in applying for, you can click on 'Apply to Job(s)' or you can 'Save to Cart' and apply for several at once.
4. You will be promted to log in. Click 'Click Here to Create a Login' and you can begin the process of creating a profile for which to apply with.

The state of Ohio's Public Utilities Commission has an excellent and replete directory of all utility providers and affiliated companies in Ohio. This is a very exhaustive list and may help you to find smaller utility companies and subcontracting companies in your area. Click Here to See The List. Keep in mind that some of these companies are 'brokers', 'aggregators', 'marketers', and 'owners', as in companies that own, transmit, and manage the commodified energy, but do not actually hire people to maintain the energy infrastructure.
